The flight actually wasn't too bad. We had little tablets that folded out of the arm rest so we were able to watch movies and play games which helped pass the time. The only issue we ran into was the line through customs took forever. A plane from Russia landed before us and I guess their process to get cleared takes way longer then anyone else. Once we got through that and grabed our bags, it was a short 20 minute train ride to Oslo Central.
We actived our train passes, booked our next train for Thursday and headed off to our hotel. We are staying at the HTL Grensen (recommended to me by my coworker Ethan), which is a really nice modern hotel right in the middle of the city. After and quick shower and a large coffee to try and shake off the jet lag, we headed out the door to explore. We didn't really have a plan so we ended up walking around quite a bit. We decided to walk towards Akershus which is an awesome Fortress overlooking the bay. We got to walk around the walls and explore the grounds which was really awesome. We then walked to the royal palace and stopped for beers along the way and then walked around the garden for a bit. We were getting hungry so we decided to find a resteraunt on the bay so we could enjoy the view. We found great seats right on the edge of the water, ordered a beers, fish and chips and a fish soup. All was very good but made us realize how tired we were. We are now having a nightcap at the hotel and I am writing this while Ashley is writing in her journal. All in all, one hell of a day to kick off our Honey Moon.
