Gloucester to Coogee (Sydney) We set off early to drive into the Barrington Tops National Park area to see the mountain views. Byron Bay to Nambucca Heads Before leaving Byron Bay we took an opportunity to see the lighthouse at Byron Point, Australia's most eastern point. The view from the headland in the sun was superb. Brisbane to Byron Bay On leaving Brisbane our first destination was Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast to see if it lived up to all the descriptions we had heard. It did not let us down.
