Wow. What a few days I have had. Internet signal seems to be difficult to find here in Melbourne but I'm at the gallery today and they have wifi. Well I made it to Melbourne solo which is impressive for me. I even managed to find the hotel! I spent Monday afternoon exploring the city and wasted no time doing the intellectual thing and visiting the immigration museum and an exhibition on the costumes from the films. They had loads from titanic to Spider-Man and lots in between. Tuesday I went up to Victoria markets and bought a few presents before heading to the Melbourne gaol where I was booked for possession of illegal drugs and locked in a darkened cell. The police watch house was still in use until 1994. Which is pretty unbelievable if you had seen the exercise court and image up to 150-170 people could be in there at one time! I walked to the other side of the city to see Fitzroy gardens where they have moved Cook's parents cottage from Yorkshire and built it brick by brick in this park. Last night I decided I didn't want to sit in my room all evening so I booked a ticket to go to the theatre. I went to watch King Kong which was FANTASTIC it was so moving and amazingly done with all the techniques. King Kong himself was 8 metres high and was so unbelievably life like. When he roared you felt the vibrations through your whole body. Amazing show.
Today I have come to the National gallery of Victoria and have just been in to see the Monet exhibition. Later I have a date with the penguins on Phillip Island which should be good as long as the weather stays okay. Sorry again that I've been quiet for past few days. Hope you are all well. Xxx
