We left from the Clink 78 Hostel in London early Tuesday morning. We heading to the Dover port to cross by ferry. When we reached France where the bus collected us to drive to Paris. After lunch near the hotel the bus took us sight seeing to get a feel for the city. Organized, historic & beautiful. It spews visions of love at every corner. Sure there are souvenir shops dotted on every street, but they mirrored the city's beauty & usually had a crepe or cafe store attached. The next day we had a free day to explore. I grouped up with a few that had the same icons in mind as me. Starting at the Norte Dame, waiting over two hours to finally scale the stairs to the top. The view of the city set amongst the ancient gargoyle statues & awnings was majestic. The Louve was everything to be expected. With only a day time was limited, so the main point of interest was seeing the Mono Lisa. Then a few other famous statues before stopping to get a ham & cheese crepe for lunch. We headed for the Arc De Triophe. Stopping at some souvenir shops along the way. Since leaving Oz I had struggled to find a light & travel friendly souvenir. One of the girls asked the shop assistant for a patch/badge. Brilliant, so brilliant I stole it. The mission now to find one in every country. We stopped at a supermarket on the way to our dinner under the Eiffel tower. Phill & I bought a bottle of Rosa and is a very classy state drank in our plastic cups with straws. A cold French cuisine under the iconic French giant. Followed by a Cabaret show. Yes lots of boobs, but very entertaining too. French singing, dancing, juggling & a trapeze. Pity the guys had shirts on most of the time, a few six packs wouldn't have gone astray amongst the girls. On the bus this morning heading for Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland. Although I didn't go out midnight like others & come back at 5am, I am a little tired & going to nap most of the 10hr drive today.
