Today started with more rain , so no swimming but we had a good walk around the beautiful site before we left I hope you will see from the photographs how colourful the trees were and what a lovely location the site was in ....the wildlife seemed to like it too! So we had even more rain all day again! We decided to cover a few kms and stop for a long lunch for our anniversary meal instead of waiting for dinner in the rain ( when I say rain I mean torrential non stopping bucket loads of it coming straight down! ) We found another Outback Jacks at Mermaid beach just south of Surfers Paradise Again we ate like lords and it continued to tip it down with rain the whole time we were there so it was a good decision ! We are now on our way to The Gold Coast We didn't see the Japanese house , the Lockyer Valley winery or the market :-((( We now know why this part of Australia looks just like England....... Because it never stopped raining in 2 days or nights! The rain was endless ranging from a heavy damp mist to hours of thunder and lightning ! We have escaped from Gympie sometimes along dirt tracks with bend after bend through Kin Kin to Noosa where we took refuge for a day whilst the traffic went through when they opened the Bruce Highway We were told there would be lots of delays because some of the trucks are HUGE and they space them out because of the numerous bridges over the swollen creeks.
