The Iguassu Falls are breathtakingly beautiful, and are made up of 275 waterfalls. I am disappointed that my photos have not done justice to the beauty of this place. Another beautiful colonial town. A few of us took a bus out to Penha today to visit a waterfall, and a cachaça distillery - after all the caipirinhas we have had, I had to at least see how cachaça is made. A very soggy, grey and gloomy start to Rio, which made the English in our group a little homesick (especially when Louisa spotted the C&A on the high street)! The historical center of Salvador is very quaint, with most of the interesting sites located in Cidade Alta (Upper City) - not that we were allowed to venture anywhere else as it was too dangerous to walk outside of this area.
