Day Sixty Three - March 9
The island of St. Kitts and Nevis has a combined population of approximately 60,000 people. From the shortest point on St. Kitts, Nevis is only 2 miles away.
Today the island was invaded by five cruise ships. Ours, RCCL Grandeur of the Seas (guest capacity 2,446), and Caribbean Princess ( guest capacity 3,140). Janice was able to get her picture with our captain as he was on shore visiting the captain from the Princess ship.
Upon returning from our day out, the ship Ponant Le Champlain (guest capacity 184) was in port. This is a high luxury ship catering to French guests mostly.
The other ship was a Seabourn which had booked the entire beach facilities at Frigate Bay which we had hoped to spend the day at.
Our fall back was Cockleshell Bay near the end of St. Kitts where the Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea meet. It was a small beach but very enjoyable for the day.
