As I leave the cabin, the airtight water doors are closed. These doors close as a safety measure when sailing into ports.

It is now 06:30, Insignia is already docked and moored at the cruise terminal. Government officials accompanied by two Mexican Marines are on board going through the necessary paperwork to clear the ship.

While on the walking track I notice how narrow the entrance is into the harbour. Our ship must have started sailing in backwards as there is no room to maneuver the ship once in the port. This is what the Discovery Princess our neighbor is presently doing with its 19 decks and 3,660 passengers. No thank you!!

We are docked directly across from the main shopping mall in Puerto Vallarta including Walmart which will be a stop before returning to the ship.

Today its off to Old Town for a breakfast with our friends Dennis and Allan from Victoria and Dorothy from Comox. It was nice to meet up with friends as it will be a long time before returning to Canada. Thank you again Dennis for treating us to a fabulous breakfast!!!

After lunch Allan took me to his local barber shop for a haircut. Janice talks with the barber as to how I or she would like my hair cut. Janice then leaves and everytime the barber asks me a question I just say si. The haircut was 240 pesos approximatley 16 USD. The ship charges 65 USD plus gratuity.

We say our goodbyes to Dennis and Allan then taxi back to the shopping mall across from the ship. Dorothy is with us and we say our goodbyes to her as she takes a bus to Bucerias. A few things are purchased for the crew then it is back to the ship. Snacks is what they really appreciate. This time is was Cheetos.

Another Oceania Cocktail party is scheduled for this evening and we only received notice that morning. Again free alcohol so why not??

Next stop Cabo San Lucas 298 nautical miles away.
