Here we go...
Our flight to Los Angeles was with Southwest Airlines. This is the first time with them and were pleasantly surprised. The airline does not provide reserved seating but Janice and I purchased Business Select ($137) which allows you to board the plane first.
On the suggestion of our friend Tom, we made our way to the back of the plane avoiding passengers who would have passed us if we had seated ourselves at the front. We were still being very cautious. Luckily we had no one sitting next to us so we could breath a little easier. Although masks are mandatory vaccination is not unlike in Canada.
An Oceania representative met us at baggage where we collected, yes more luggage for our trip. An Uber trip paid by Oceania brought us to our complimentary overnight stay at the Beverley Hills Wilshire Four Seasons where the around the world guests (ATW) were staying.
Lunch was at the hotel celebrating with Negronis (thanks to nephew Dave for recommending this drink) with a lite dinner at a local wine bar in the area. My first glass of wine of the journey...yes I am slowly learning to somewhat enjoy an occasional glass of pinot as long as I have a coke chaser!
