Day One
Embarkation Day! Both of us are very excited that the day has finally come. Having registered with the Oceania representative at the hotel the previous day we were advised to meet at 9:45 for the bus trip to the main cruise port terminal in Los Angeles.
Our luggage was collected from our rooms and delivered to the ship along with a dozen bottles of Acrobat wine purchased earlier from the nearest wine establishment.
While waiting at the meeting area I overheard somone talking about Winnipeg. Naturally I made my way over and found a young couple with their grandmother. She was taking the cruise by herself as her friend decided at the last minute to cancel. We were happy to hel pher through the check in process. More on this wonderful 88 lady in a later blog.
Every passenger was required to undergo an Antigen test before finally boarding. If you tested positive you could not board. It was certainly a little tense waiting for our number to be called, especially that mine was posted 10 minutes before Janice's. But we were pretty sure we would past the test as we literally saw no one since the past 3 weeks.
The fourth picture shows Janice stocking up for the trip and obviously keeping Amazon in business over the past 3 months. We certainly need alot of things for 6 months and expecially snacks as they don't feed us enough lol. We know we brought alot but didn't want to spend time in ports looking for shops when we could be enjoying the sites.
Yeah we made it!! You have no idea how happy and grateful we are to finally be on board!!
