Atlantis arrived in the beautiful bay of Aratu.

Some facts; Atlantis sailed 4.752 NM or 8.800 KM since she left Richards Bay in South Africa. She was involved in 2 mayday situations; 1) Struisbaai (Cape Agulhas) when she lost her anchor in a storm. 2) In Houtbay (South Africa), when she sailed into illegal crayfish nets more than 3 NM from the coast. St. Helena - Salvador Day 1 We left St. Helena after only 2 days because the weather to brazil seems to be optimal with winds between 15 and 20 kts.... Better use it!! Our ETA will be 17 days at 5 kts average ....that is if we don't encounter major problems or a drop in wind. We have 200l of diesel on board which should give us at least 64h or 330NM of motoring. Cape Town - St.Helena Day 1; Atlantis left the prestigious waterfront in Cape Town at 06:00 UTC. Water en fuel tanks filled to the top and provision for 1 month....just in case we would miss the little island (only 9 NM) in the Atlantic Ocean. Atlantis is in the V&A marina in Cape Town after another eventful sail between Simon's Town and Cape Town. The rounding of the Cape of Good Hoop went well...a bit of waves and current but no winds above 20kts. Due to a limited weather window we had to motor most of the way to keep our speed up and avoid coming into the predicted headwind of 15kts. At 10nm South of Houtbay Atlantis went through illegal fisherman's nets at more than 3nm of the shore. Disaster...
