Friday – get off the boat with my safari group (there’s 11 of us), go to bank to exchange money, go to airport (flight at 1:30), arrive in Jo’burg around 4pm, go to hostel, go to dinner with a family friend of one of the people in my safari group (he knows this mom and her son because she was an exchange teacher in the states)….Saturday – eat breakfast in hostel, leave for safari around 7am…Safari until Tuesday around lunchtime…Tuesday - Drive back to Jo’burg and stop at some places along the way, take flight to Cape Town around 8pm, arrive at the ship around 11pm…Wednesday – township visit with SAS from 8-1:30pm, then hayley’s parents will pick me up and I’ll stay with them that night. They said they have a huge surprise for her and I’m thinking that it’s her brothers coming to south Africa as well???? Have they said anything? Anyways, between Wednesday and Friday I’m trying to go to boulder beach (swim with wild penguins), hike table mountain, visit district six museum (deal w/ apartheid…I will be doing this w/ hayley’s family)…I don’t think we’re going to be staying at the bed and breakfast in the township anymore, so I will probably spend both nights with hayley’s family (march 6th and 7th)…I won’t be able to catch a field hockey game because fh season is in the winter and it’s summer right now. FYI – temps will be in the 60s for our safari, which will actually be really nice I think. I hope that helps! I have a surprise event that I should be doing…hopefully it works out. Can’t wait to tell you about it and get some pictures! I’ll call you after the safari and I’ll try and call at a time around 8pm so I can talk to all of you at home..we’re 7 hours ahead of you. That’s it! The week in South Africa is going to fly by…I wish we had more time because there’s SO much I want to do there.
