ok then lets see what we've done since our last blog
ok we got a overnight train up from bangkok to chang mai, the beds were suprisingly clean comfy and easy to set up. On the train we met two american girls who seemed to want to do in 10 days roughly what were planning on doing in like 3/4 weeks, either they're crazy or we're lazy, u judge
from chang mai we had arranged to go on a 3 day/2 night trek into the forest to live visit hill tribes. before leaving we stopped in a market which gave me a chance to try eating chickens feet (chris was too p**** to try), and believe it or not it tasted like chicken.
ok our trek was absolutly awsome, apart from the lack of sleep (i'll explain later), we met some awsome ppl, our tour guides were awsome then there was 2 english girls, a portugese guy, a danish couple and a australian couple plus others.
we went water rafting, treked for about 3 hours through the thai national park (half way through we swam in a small waterfall), then arrived at the hill tribe village which was very strange it seemed like they were just part of a zoo, turns out they have groups like us visiting them 3 times a week, but was still great to see them living. for dinner we all got fresh pig and i mean very fresh, we saw them prepare it and everything by the time we ate it it had probs only been dead about 5 hours. Didnt sleep very well due to solid wooden planks as 'beds' and suprising cold at night in the hills, and cockrals crowing.
then we woke up the next day and treked for about two hours to a big waterfall which was amazing, and we basically just stayed around there the whole day, playing cards and swimming, then went to sleep again on the solid plank type things, and the waterfall noise plus still cold.
then today we went and rode elephants which was interesting most of the elephants seemed to have fun apart from ours which was blind in one eye, elephants are suprisingly uncomfortable.
through talking to some of the ppl on our treks we've now decided that going into laos sounds like fun so might do that then into cambodia not sure, will keep you posted
