We left Kalimpong early as there was a possibility of road closures along the way. The drive was long, bumpy and busy with lots of trucks, buses and cars, this being the main road into Sikkim. Our driver was good and brought us through safely. I was expecting a more complicated border crossing, but our driver and car was able to cross the causeway into Kakarbhitta on the Nepal side.
