After a late night at the footie we were all feeling abit tired but no rest for the wicked as we were up around 7.30am to take our bags over to our new hostel, The Millhouse, before catching the 9.30am ferry to Uruguay. Ash and I have always been very excited about getting a new stamp in our passport each time we enter a new country and this time Shez was in on the action. After dropping our bags we headed to the ferry terminal where we checked in and boarded smoothly enough, all very impressed with the boat, it was rather fancy inside and we enjoyed a 3 hour sail over, a great opportunity to catch up on some sleep.
We arrived around 12.30pm as planned in Colonia, a beautiful little town which is the oldest in Uruguay, and headed for the old quarter with Lonely Planet in hand in search of some good food. Unfortunately the place we had in mind wasnt open so we went next door which wasnt the best. We made up for it in the afternoon with some sun bathing looking over the sea and wandering around the old town looking in the shops and enjoying an ice cream before heading back to BA. Our long day was topped off with a steak and glass of red wine at a local joint before getting some sleep in our new place "Kids Club". The three of us did feel quite old!
Our last day in BA was spent wandering around the other areas we had not visited and enjoying the sunshine before catching our ´cama´bus to Iguazu. We even treated ourselves to some famously renowned ice cream in Sam Telmo the afternoon we left which was amazing! A great finish. After a dodgy trip over to the bus station we were all glad to board the bus and settle down into our huge seats and relax for the evening. The service was great as we were served food and drinks, not to mention the whiskey or champagne that came round before sleeptime. Shame I had already nodded off! Ash and Shex enjoyed the films and a great nights sleep was had by all. We were to learn this was definately the way to travel.
