Had an eventful day to say the least! And a very painful one! We arrived yesterday at Dong Hoi and today decided to rent a motorbike to go out to the caves a couple of miles away. However we never made it... Plan was Bill would drive to bike as he knew how to and had done it before. But because he doesn't have a license they said I had to.. I struggle on a normal bike but I thought I'd give it a try and be jazzy. Bad move. Started off not to bad on the straight roads, bit wobbly but nothing terrible. Then it came to turning, I was awful. Bill got off to let me try on my own and I attempted to turn a corner. Completely forgot which was break and which was accelerate in a panic and ended up flying up the curb and into a mans garden taking out about 5 plant pots and a small tree. Threw the bike onto myself, took the skin off my legs and smashed my little head into the ground (good job I had a helmet!) Bill then had to come and lift the bike off and help get the bike round the corner. Then later he made me go knock on the door and apologise to the man and offer to buy him some new pots! He said no do either they weren't his or he hadn't seen the extent of damage I'd managed! Anyway we snuck the bike back into the hotel garage and acted casual like nothing had happened and opted to just take a little cycle around where we were! Far safer! Painkillers have been taken, could of been a lot worse!
