Hiya everyone,
Sorry the blog has taken some time- we havnt had much time and internet has been quite sparce! After our stint in singapore air port, we arrived at Bankok centre Hostel in the early evening of the 18th to find that the hostel was about 10times nicer then any of the hotels that we had been in in India which was a pleasent suprise! We decided to take our Hotel guides advice and go on the underground that evening to Lumpini to the night bazar. this proved to be our favourite drinking hole for the remaining time in thailand-(serving 5litre beers in huge dispensers!), also a group of friendly locals- a good way to spend the first evening! The next day we went on a river tour of tje Bangkok waterways, seeing many of the beautiful buddhist Wats and visting a rather suspect Snake farm! (which had a huge bear and a tiger) and a man who thought it was funny to throw angry king cobras into unsuspecting crowds! photos will follow! that evening on recommendation we visited the Muay Tai boxing arena and watched people smack seven shades of s*** out of each other, a good decent way to spend 4 hours! That night we went out with the same group of locals from the first bar, to a seires of nightclubs and managed to get home with both our money and anal virginity! the next 5 days were spent travelling to and staying in an island called Koh Samui. This proved to be an extreemley beautiful and relaxing place to be- with huge expanses of beach and incredibly warm water to relax and swim around in! The frist day we spent on the beach near 'Mr Tongs' huts and ventured out to the main touristy beach called Chaweng. This was a suprisingly vibrant and busy seeing as the island only has a population of about 45,000- with some good bars and pubs. the next day we spent again on Chaweng beach, rented out some kayaks and proceeded to row them out to sea and jump off them! for hours! that night again we went out in the CBD to retire slightly earlier as there was a busy travelling day ahead back to bangkok. In Bangkok we ventured out as far as the nearest subway (food stand that is) and shopped for a good part of the day only to return once again to the night Bazar for some brews and a solid nights clubbing. And to answer the question of all of your minds, ladyboys were successfully avoided! just! We managed to get our heads down for a successful 40mins and then we were up and to the airport, successfully drunk only to find our plane had been cancelled! not a great situation to be in! thankfully a moments clear thought and some new printed tickets, saw us safely to our destination, good old Auz!
