G'day from Australia. We arrived in Brisbane yesterday morning, but were treated with unsuspected suspiscion by the Customs officers, who on discovering we were teenagers who had come from Thailand, proceeded to hold us for 2 hours while undoing all our packing and searching all 6 of our bags, using sniffer dogs and narcotic sticks, while also interregating Arun. We got the cities 'Skytrain' from the aiport to city centre, which was a supposed 5 minute walk from the hostel, but given  our ability to read maps, we arrived almost half an hour later. We dropped our stuff, got a bite to eat and went about accquiring a rugby ball to throw around the parks and beaches of Queensland. We spent the afternoon walking along the river and taking in the city, before retiring to Victoria park for a quick kick around.
That evening we went to the Brisbane Cricket Ground, or the now infamous 'Gabba' and enjoyed a game of Auzzie rules from the AFL, as the Brisbane Lions took on the Collingwood Magpies. It was close till the end, but visitors eventually took it 118-96. We retired to the hostel's bar, where we we endured the humiliation of watching England v South Africa. To make it worse, the Australians beat Wales so were feeling quite cocky and began to drink hard. This was our cue to head to bed.
Tomorrow, we leave for the Gold Coast and to spend a few days at Surfer's paradise and Byron Bay.
