Day 51 Thursday 29th October 2009
Stacey says
We had our transfer to Koh Phangan, when we arrived to the pier, a lady came over to us and talked us into heading to the resort she was advertising, Haad Yao Bay View Resort, so we decided to go with her and made our way up to the northwest of the Island. When we arrived and got shown around, the resort looked amazing. The beach is a perfect spot, very quiet and secluded. Very romantic for Joe and Steve. So much so they went for a sunset coconut oil massage together and then shared a bottle of Jack Daniels. (Barry - I'd watch this space!)
Day 52 Friday 30th October 2009

Woke up this morning with the sun blazing. Just a very lazy day by the beach. So nice here, you don't get hassled at all. No frog sellers, no jewellery, no bags, no monkeys, no doughnuts. Just pure peace and quiet, with the waves rolling in. However the 3 of us decided to go for a bare foot run along the coast during sunset!! Steve doing an extra 2 laps for good measure. We then decided to venture along the beach for some food. 6 hours later and we are saying good night to a big group of people, 5 of which were from London, the group kept growing through the evening, it's a really quiet beach, so it was good to meet some people there, and who will all be going to the full moon in a few days too.
Day 53 Saturday 31st October 2009

Happy Halloween!! After seeing the bottle of JD out of our lives and such a late one, we very easily slept in until 1pm. The sun was at its peak so we sunbathed until it went down - no running for us today!! (probably be a once in a lifetime beach run!!) Then we decided to get down to Thong Sala (pier) for a Halloween party with us grabbing some face paints within a few minutes, cracked on with some hard house trance type stuff - I was hoping for a bit of Thriller but it wasn't to be. Joe ended up with a plant pot and grave stone on his head which was quite funny (at the time) Managed to get a 100 baht (2 pounds) each way taxi which is a bit of a result here as the taxi's are so few and far between!!
Day 54 Sunday 1st November 2009

All day today we spent lazing on a sun lounger - this traveling is really starting to get tough! Yes, we are now starting to feel the burn with the tan hopefully on its way. We did contemplate a trip out to sea on a canoe but that contemplation didn't really leave the sun lounger, maybe tomorrow!!? Another run along the beach sorted out the Chang belly for now which also made great preparation for the full moon party. Stacey managed 4 lengths of the beach today - I feel another two hour massage coming on for 5 pounds!!
Day 55 Monday 2nd November 2009

Had a very chilled out day, in preparation of the full moon party! We got there for about 10.30, after having a few beers and Malibu with dinner. We met with the Blackpool girls at their hotel, and got ourselves painted up, with Joe really going for it and smothering his whole face in paint. Then went onto the beach, straight away we climbed up a net and went down the wet slide! The girls got loaded up with some buckets, and played a never ending dice game, which the shot glass kept getting refilled, so a few shots were had too! The night absolutely flew by really, just surrounded by all kinds of crazy fun and frolics, fireworks going off everywhere, fire skipping rope, dance stages, (us girls loved a stage!) Just dancing all through the night on the beach. Before we knew it the sun had started rising, we had a splash about in the sea then it was time to head home for around 9am for a well earned sleep!
Day 56 Tuesday 3rd November 2009
Johno says
This is quite possibly be the most uninteresting blog entry of our trip as we were pretty much zombies for majority of the day following the full moon party. So, we slept in until silly o'clock then had a nice 5 pound massage by the sea followed by dinner and in our room again for bedtime.
Day 57 Wednesday 4th November 2009
Johno says
Today we made our way from Haad Yao Bay View Resort to the pier to board our vessel but unfortunately due to the monsoon season the sea was far too rough to travel so we were stranded on Ko Phangan for another day - big shame!! The pier was surrounded by full moon party go-ers looking to make a swift get away. We booked into a hotel opposite the pier after breakfast which served up the largest sausages in the world and cracked on in Thong Sala. After a Tesco's visit and a long winded cheeky game of chess that Stace immensely enjoyed we headed out to a bar to play some pool and darts. Quality little bar that played everything but electro house which was well needed by now.
