Well the picture tells a thousand words and, even though we have been to Lucky Bay many times we cannot escape the magic of this place. But more about that further into the blog
We left Manjimup on Tuesday 1st April as planned and spent our first night in a free camp just outside of Ravensthorpe. It was a quiet night as the Satellite dish was not kind to us and we couldn't get a signal.
We arrived in Esperance around 11.00am on the Wednesday and parked next to Steven's shed until Saturday when we headed for Lucky Bay. We couldn't believe our luck.....lots of spots and a particularly good one in the bottom row with heaps of room, close to the toilets and the beach....both important places! We reckon we landed the penthouse suite and several of our fellow campers were quick to agree with us.
Fishing was the order of the day...well 4 days actually and the 'hunter and gatherer' (that's me!) caught a total of 20 fish - herring and sand whiting. We were totally indulged with fish lunches for the four days.
The weather was perfect and we read, walked the beach and managed to get the satellite dish to work (had to get new cabling in Esperance which worked a treat) so we could watch our favourite shows.
We were sorry to leave the Bay this morning as it is the very best in bush camping - solar hot water showers, clean push button toilets and lots of very happy caravanners more than happy to share their own adventures with you. Discussion was about the price of fuel across the Nullabor, really good caravan clubs to join (Australian Caravan Club was the popular one with some nice people we met) and free camping spots.
We are now back outside Steven's shed for the night before meeting up with Bert and Fran tomorrow and heading to Fraser Range Camping Spot.
