Hello! sorry we havent updated this for a while...i tried to, got to the end and then the computer crashed! Since Cairns, we took our first night bus to Airlie Beach...very comfortable and lots of space (heaven in comparison to Asia!) Our first afternoon was spent chilling in Airlie beach, very cool place with lots of yachts and beautiful views. We met some really cool people in our hostel room....2 kiwis and a scottish girl so spent the night on our balcony swapping stories and listening to guitar playing before we headed into town for some dancing!
The next day we were up early to catch our bus to our sailing trip. We had the most amazing 3days and 2nights! Our boat was a proper sailing race boat and so tipped sideways when we movwed and went very fast! We were up on deck the whole time so had to hold on for dear life and got very wet! All in the name of fun though! We visited Whitehaven Beach, which is over 5km of pure white sand that is so fine it squeaks under your feet! After being warned many times that the sand will ruin the lens of our cameras I promptly dropped mine as soon as we got here but it has lived to tell the tale! The next day we went to another island and walked up to a viewpoint where we could see almost all of the Whitsundays, stunning views which rival anywhere I have been so far! Spent a few hours on the beach before sailing to a spot to go snorkelling! We saw a Nemo and a Dory and lots of other fish. the crew from the boat threw bread into the sea whilst we were snorkelling so we were surrounded and could literally hand feed the fish! In the evening we had an aussie barby on board the boat and drank some alcohol! Lots of fun was had and our crew made us feel very welcome and were really good fun! On the last day we headed to South Mole Island which has a resort. Here we went to a spa and relaxed in the hot tub. Also we went on a 6km walk to another view point on the top of Mnt Jeffery. When we got to the top it started to rain and so the walk down was very wet and slippery but quite funny all the same! This just about marked the end of our Whitsunday trip which we were quite sad about!
That evening we met up with some ppl from our boat and had dinner before saying goodbye and getting the night bus to Rainbow Beach. We arrived here this morning ready for our fraser Island trip 2moro. For the next 3days and 2nights we will be driving around in a 4x4 with me (Jo) behind the wheel (maybe) and camping out! Cant wait! Will update again after Fraser and hopefully get some photos up on the website too!
Miss and love you all, Jo and Vix
