Six am start from our Fiji hotel, with the night watchman booking us out and returning our deposit on the room key and air con remote. It was a quirky hotel with lots for us to talk about and a bit Fawlty Towers ish but the staff were absolutely lovely and the location spot on. Our 10 hr flight to HK was ok and passed surprisingly quickly with huge queues in immigration which moved amazingly quickly and a baggage hall that was absolutely huge it was about the size of four football pitches. We picked our baggage up from carousel A5 and there were I think 20 carousels and a B hall - insane!! Transfer had been prebooked, and a lovely man drove us from HK airport. It’s a city of 7.5 million crammed into a fairly small place. It is more overpowering than New York and certainly different to my last visit 40 years ago !
The Grand Harbour Kowloon is our new favourite hotel as they upgraded us to an executive corner suite. Bit of a contrast to last night.
