Today our luck continued with another beautiful, clear, sunny day -- perfect for hiking around in the Blue Mountains! I'll let my photos do most of the talking for this day.
With a night of rest, a compression bandage, and much advil, my right knee was still loudly complaining, but not enough to keep me out of this beautiful rainforest. I found that as long as I went down steps or inclines kinda sideways, my knee was fine. So I was a funny-looking hiker today, but better to be funny-looking than bed-ridden!
The aboriginee playing the Didjeridoo (long, hollow, wooden instrument) was totally entertaining. An elderly woman wanted to sit next to him for a picture -- He put her on his knee and bounced her around while he improvised a "song" just for her. She loved it!
We took the train back into Sydney tonight, and I checked into "Big" Hostel, in the center of town. This is technically the first hostel I've ever stayed in, and so far it's great! My room is clean, the staff are friendly, and the place is bustling with energetic backpackers. I'll be staying here off and on for the next couple of weeks (the nights when I'm in Sydney).
