Headed out of Vang Vieng on the bus to Vientiene before catching a sleeper bus to Vietnam. We arrived to find out that the sleeper was not available due to a flood across the border. After demanding half our money back we got on the normal bus and although we were annoyed we had a few friends on the bus so knew we would have a laugh. After about 30 minutes on the bus we found out you could not get visas at the border so had to stop the bus and get off. We then had to walk for hours in the middle of nowhere to get back to the city and get a hotel. The next morning we got express visas and booked airline tickets for the next day however, when we returned at 5 pm our flight reservations had been cancelled and there were no more flights the next day. As we hated Vientiene so much, we jumped right on a sleeper bus that night heading to Hanoi and fled the city,
