Day 29- arrived nice an early (4am) and jumped on the shuttle bus to the hostel. Arrived a lil early so grabbed a good cup of tea and a sausage sandwhich from next door. After gettin let in, bags down and had a sleep. Down to the pool, (sun lounger for D) we chilled out afta a hectic few days of travelling. Went to the vic for some food as it was the cheapest place we could find and where all the bacpackers went. Met 2 guys from Bournemouth who were with these 2 german girls ( forgot there names.suprise) and we introduced them to the high and low card game. 20 minutes later the game had started to kick in and everyone was up on the tables dancing to whatever song the dj was playing. Good night and we headed on home.
Day 30- BAD NEWS- D's down and out with an illness, she sleeps for pretty much the whole day and I'm playing maid getting her drinks, with the occasional outing to the pool.
Day 31- D"s still not feelin to good and after a few choice words She gives up and agrees to go to the doctors. Waiting in the reception was an experience, it was pretty stylish and we got to see he doctor within 5 minutes of walking in, bit weird havin to pay for a consult though. Doctor was very helpful and put on a 30 minute assesment doing a few tests with the results given back the same time he decides that D's suffering from dehydration and she needs to drink pleny of fluids and rest. Back to the hostel for a big night in. Playing maid again I got the hostel to pick up a magazine, grapes and some Gatorade (which D ended up hating). Early doors and called it a night (whilst I played on the DS)
Day 32- " I feel alot better, lets go out for the day" D's first words, 5 minutes later she was curled back up in bed. Maid was in service again and I filled up her water bottle and had look round the City of Darwin. Nice place, excellent weather, even though I ended up going full circle on myself (typical). Cooked up some beans on toast and D came out on the balcony for some fresh air. Early night as it's litchfield park for me 2moz!!!
Day 33- Up at 5.30 for a shower as its a 6am departure to see the crocs!! Quick maid service of a water refill and a guilt trip (courtesy of D) and I was off to the mini bus by my 1's. Picked up by a guy in shorts that were way to high and a shirt that was way too tight, he ws the mini bus driver for the day, all aboard the MB!! Met the quietest Irish Guy (Adon) and Ben from the lake district, bit too early for a full blown convo some grabbed some sleep on the 3 hour journey. Arrived at the croc farm 9am for a nice bit of brekky and then onto the boat, wondering what was ment by jumping crocs......30 seconds into the boat cruise I found out....a 5.5metre croc out of the water for this bit of meat hanging from a stick, I then noticed that the window which less than a metre from the croc was open.." dnt worry about that mate there more interested ijn the meat" was the answer I got..... carried on for another hour seeing alot mor jumpin crocs. Off to Litchfield national park, saw these huge termite mounds that were anything from 10-60 years old!! And looked a little like a graveyard. Off for a little trek to the waterfall, the biggest 1 i've seen so far, jumped in the water which was revitalising to say the least and couldn't help but think of the crocs i'd just seen less than an hour ago. Out the pool and it was off to aanother waterfall. This area was more like a load of spas (not literally) built by nature, very relaxing having a shower in a waterfall!! Packed up and time to head back, for a well earned sleep.
Day 34- D decided she didn't want to hear about the trip as it would only make her mad so she decided that she was up for a little walk around just to get some fresh air. Then headed back to the room for a sleep. Whilst preparing my gourmet meal for 1 (BOT) I got chatting to a guy from portsmouth and a girl from Notts, decided to hit the nightmarket with them as D would be sleeping for a while. Headed out and tried a bit of BBQ croc.very nice, watched the sunset over the sea, and headed back to the hostel. Decided to go out with the 2 ppl from earlier that night as it was the girls bday. Ended up at a club where there filming the final of a national dance comp, good night and alot of snake bite jugs and drinking games...
Day 35-"i'm hungry" finally. We went for a meal at the local chippy and sampled croc n chips. Very nice again. D had perked up alot. Didn't do much else. Off to Alice in the morning.
