Yesterday we drove from Swansea back to Hobart via Bonarong Animal Sanctuary, a rehabilitation centre for marsupials that survive road accidents. We were able to hand feed kangaroos and watched Tasmanian devils being fed a wallaby leg! Also saw wombats, emus and koalas. Then drove into Hobart and visited MONA (museum of old and new art). Launceston is Tassie's 2nd biggest city (about the size of Sittingbourne)and strangely, for a nation that abbreviates words wherever possible, pronounces every syllable unlike the same place in Devon. After driving from Queenstown, the Weather improved today, no rain and warmer than last 3 days. Queenstown is home to The Wilderness Railway, a small steam driven railway that was built at the end of 19th century to carry wood and copper from the interior to the port of Strahan.
