Took the tram into Adelaide city centre to do the tourist bit with our local hosts. We went to the Oval so that David and Tony could pick up the tickets for the test match due to start tomorrow. The cricket ground is undergoing a complete makeover and one of the new stands is far from complete. We then took a walk around Adelaide centre and viewed all the main buildings, which conveniently are close together! Adelaide is a compact state capital, very different to Melbourne, more relaxed and definitely less noisy and frenetic! The four of us then took the tram to the end of the line, Glenelg, with its wide, white sandy beach. As it was really windy we could not walk on the beach so Tony and Jeannie introduced us to 'The Oyster Bar', a popular venue overlooking a marina and sheltered from the wind. Fresh oysters are served in a variety of different ways, natural or cooked, and about $20 for 12. I had mine Thai style, raw with coriander, chilli and Thai dressing. Delicious!
