Around the world with Annie
Finally arrived in Boseman after a 16 hour bus journey. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to endure the journey by sitting next to a nutter. I had spoken to a number of travellers who had to suffer sitting next to 'interesting' characters on the greyhound buses.
My hostel is very quiet, homely and relaxing. It's a shame I'm only here for one night. I'm looking forward to relaxing on the veranda this evening reading my book. I'm currently on a quest to find out how I can get to Gardner tomorrow. There are no buses that go there. I was informed that most people hitch! Not overly keen on that idea......Never fear, where there is a will there is a way.
Boseman is a sleepy town. Populated by 35000 people. Agriculture is the main industry here. The town is wide spread and spills across the land. A car is essential. Montana is beautiful, with its rolling plains and mountains that go as far as your eyes can see. The bus past many ranches with horses and cattle in the fields. If I have the opportunity, I would love to ride across the plains on a horse. Never thought I would hear myself say that. But I hear the call.........
I can't wait to visit Yellowstone, I'm really excitied. Don't worry if you don't hear from me over the next few days, possibly a week. I will be attending a field seminar with the Yellowstone Institute. I will be hiking and learning about the park's history, geogelogy, vegetation and wildlife. I will be hiking above 7000 feet.
Take care now, I'm off to get some food and embark on my quest to travel to Gardner.
Lots of Love
Annie
