A ridiculously slow start today. We were very happy in our little bay, hidden from the world. A local fisherman putted by & gave a glowing report of his island Lipsos, & proudly displayed the squid he had jagged. A quick sail from Lipsos to a secluded bay on Agsthonissi. Windsurfer, kayaks out, some waterskiing, I opted for goggles & snorkel & had an hour fossicking underwater. Heaps of small fish, healthy seagrasses, the drop offs so dramatic and steep. We all enjoyed a great afternoon on the water, working off the homemade baklava from Lipsos. Left Skala Harbour, Patmos crack of dawn to find our own private bay to have a swim & breakfast. Decadent? Overcast morning - spoilt, too cold for a swim! Sailed directly to Patmos, mooring in the harbour at Skala. Great place to revisit, with the 'castle', Monastery of St John & historic settlement of Chora, above the town, architecturally stunning, & a great example of a Greek Orthodox pilgrimage centre.
