G'day!

Moved on from Sydney last Saturday evening and arrived in chilly Melbourne early Sunday morning after our final thoroughly enjoyable Greyhound coach trip (not gonna miss them one bit!!). We were collected from the coach terminal by Shane and Andy, two Aussie guys we met on the boat from Surat Thani to Ko Phanghan in Thailand who kindly offered to put us up!!!

On Sunday afternoon we visited Pin Oak Court aka Ramsay St!!! V exciting!! Couldn't believe how small it is in real life...was a very surreal experience. That evening Shane and Andy invited some friends over and we had a true Aussie barbie and lots of tinnies...was really cool. The following evening we went to the famous Neighbours trivia night at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow in St Kilda, where we got to meet Elle Robinson (really annoying), Stingray Timmins (v sweet and funny - pulled a girl that was sitting at our table!!! So jealous!) and the one, the only Paul Robinson!!! He's tiny and leathery faced and obvo loves himself and the ladies! Was so funny!

On Tuesday it was the famous Melbourne Cup, which we were gonna go to but were advised (by the boys) not to and to instead go to Yarra Glen Races, where we had lots of fun but unfortunately didn't come home rich (or with rich men - d'oh!)

Had an all round brilliant time in Melbourne - was really nice to see the suburbs of the city and to stay in a house rather than a hostel....so thanks again Shane and Andy! Can't believe we've already finished the Australia stretch of our trip....so gutted but at the same time excited to see what New Zealand has in store for us.
