Hey everyone, hope you're all well....
We're currently in Noosa after an eventful and amazing few days four-wheel-driving/camping on Fraser Island. We visited beautiful Lake McKenzie - crystal clear waters, just like the postcards - then made our way along the beach and set up camp behind the sand dunes for the night. After a long first day we were all really looking forward to the juicy steaks we had been provided with for dinner..... It was only after Rachael and I had devoured the whole thing and 5 other people in our group had done the same that we discovered they had in fact been cooked in fairy liquid, as opposed to cooking oil!!! It was kind of thanks to me as I passed the chef the bottle....but it really did look like a cooking oil bottle and it was dark! From that moment our group name became the "Soapy Steaks"...
On the second day we visited The Champagne Pools, Indian Head (where you can sometimes spot sharks, but we didn't!! Saw some dolphins though), The Pinnacles (colourful mountain formations) and Eelie Creek. Our camp got stalked by scary dingoes on the second night. Luckily we'd watched a safety video before leaving Hervey Bay, so knew to assume 'The Dingo Position' (see photos!!!!) if we fealt threatened....they weren't gonna mess with US!!!
Really did have the most amazing time, thanks to being in THE BEST group!! So here's a special hello to my fellow Soapy Steakers: Jason; Ivan; Craig; Erik; Rick; Courtney and Michelle...we're already missing you guys!!
We're enjoying Noosa too though; went to Australia Zoo yesterday and got to hold a koala called Mash, sooo cute!
Heading off to Brisbane tomorrow morning. Will write again soon, loads of love,
Annie, Kate and Rachael xxxx
