Hellllllloooooooooooooo!!!
We have arrived in the Gold Coast safe and sound.
Our flight was at 10am yesterday, so not too early and it was just a couple of hours long. We had to fly back to good old Brisbane and then catch a train to the Gold Coast, which was another added 80 mins or so. Once we had finally reached the Gold Coast we got a bus, with the friendliest bus driver in the whole world! He made sure everyone got off at the most convenient stop for them and gave helpful info out to tourists.
It was cloudy and looked very likely to rain, luckily our hostel 'aquarius' was only across the road from where we were dropped off.
Our room was number 18 and directly opposite the reception! Also music was coming from the hostel bar beside the room and the television from the shared living room was on full blast. So our first impressions were not great! lol
It was a Saturday and after the torrential rain had settled down, we decided to explore Surfers paradise, so caught a shuttle bus at 6pm. It turned out it was a major night out for backpackers and the schools 'Schoolies' were on their holidays, so it was likely to be very busy! The streets were filled with people and the bars were getting full quickly. There are many nightclubs here and a beach party for the schoolies was organised for the weekend. Quite a difference compared to Cairns!
We had been walking a while and we were getting hungry, so went for a meal at a seafood restaurant, but neither of us ate any fish! lol
Anyway, the weather since then has been great! hardly any clouds in the sky! We are thinking about trying out some surfing! So will keep you posted on what we have planned etc.
Hope all is well at home :)
P.S We have been able to sleep, lol :)
