Anna's travels......
Once we got to Picton we went on a Wine Tasting Tour in through the Marlborough Sounds. 60% of NZ wine is produced here. Great little tour, only half day though. They were very generous with the wine samples. The first vine yard gave us 9 glasses. Need I say I was half drunk when I left there! I am ok on the red but it is the white that gets me smashed. At the 3rd vine yard we also got to try different olive oils - there was a Lime one and it was soooo nice. And then to top off the wine we also got to try lots of different liqures. One was called a Ridged Richard (butterscotch and cream), then a Slippery Nipple (zambuca and cream) and then a Nuke (white zambuca, cream and then black zambuca). All very nice!! Just before the driver dropped us off we visited the chocolate factory - one 1 little sample though, us girls was not impressed! Alan and I had to get the ferry over to the North Island. 3 hour journey so we got a bottle or wine and did even more shots. Once in Wellington we continued the session and yes I was plastered - oh well, I am on holiday.
