Having only camped about 10 nights between us and not one night in a campervan we decided to spend the best part of 18 months travelling around New Zealand and Australia in a campervan, with stopovers in Hong Kong on the way out and South East Asia on the way back.
We were used to living abroad as we had been in Greece and Bulgaria for most of the previous two years. The month before the big trip we were in the UK visiting family and friends and getting ourselves organised.
It still didn't feel real, however close our departure date came. We stayed with Pete in London for the final few days, and even on the walk to South Ealing station to catch the tube to Heathrow it was hard to believe we were actually on our way.
As we humped our too-heavy packs through the airport, we both had the same thought. Would we actually enjoy the coming months?
