Friday 9th May
Today i got up early and braved the rush hour on the tube to go to job interview with Coby Philips a job agency in west end. It was so amazing how many people kept piling into the tube, you never get personal space but lucky everyone smelt pretty from morning showers. I found the place ok but was early so had to kill 20 minutes some how with out walking as my shoes were hurting to much after only 1 hour in them. Finally 9am came....... The painfully part was the typing and spelling test. The agency only deals with temp work so they mentioned a job for 2 1/2 days next week starting Monday so i said yes. It is just ringing people to confirm they will be coming to a function.
With my very sore foot i did a few thing in west end and headed home to pack my bags for a weekend to Oxford. i left Minya to decide where we were going. Around 2:30 we headed to Victoria Station to catch the bus. We nearly missed it cause we were waiting at the wrong station. Had to high tail it about a block away and cross very bust road, only just making it. The bus was packed being a friday afternoon and there was a huge accident along the highway so what should of taken us 1 1/2 hours took 2 1/2. Once hitting oxford we had no idea where the hotel was, it was lucky we seen the street it should of been on when pasting on the bus so got off at next stop and trekked back. This is what we thought was the street the hotel was on, boy were we wrong. It was Thames st but we wanted Thames Rd. After checking on the net we realised the hotel was 25 min bus trip out of town and located at a services centre. Seen as we couldn't afford anything in town and the payment was taken off Minya's Credit card we made our way on the bus, but had a beer first of cause before leaving town. By this time it was about 9pm so ready for bed after a huge feed of K.F.C from service centre (staying there did have advantages) Next morning we planned to get up early and explore oxford.
Saturday 10th May
Oxford...... The city packed with 39 universities. First thing we noticed was the young population. Our planned early morning turned into 11am start with 25 min bus ride into town. We thought the best way to see the town was to jump on a sight seeing bus which was double decker - no roof top so we got the air in our hair. the trip around the city took about 45 min and on the first round Minya had a brillant idea that we had to go around again but next time stopped into every pub along the way and drink a different kind of beer. Sorry i should explain it is a hop on hop off bus. First beer went down smoothly, on the bus again, second beer went down better and then the bus started to get a bit funner the third and fourth beers done. We found the pubs weren't very lively. I think we ended up at 6 different pubs. Because we stayed 25 mins out of town the last bus left at 11pm, if we missed it we were sleeping in the Gutter, thankfully we were smart young ladies who made the last bus home. Sleep time.
Sunday 11th May
The hung over today was non existent. We just felt tried. Again we made the 25 min trip into town and walked around for a bit. We were booked on the bus back home at 2pm, but tried to get a earlier but, no luck so guess what.... we did our favourite thing and jumped back on the hop on hop off bus. The ticket was valid for 24 hours so sure got our moneys worth. We can tell you everything you need to know about oxford because we heard it all 3 times.
At 2pm we headed home for a lazy sunday afternoon & ready to start work tomorrow.
