A good day on Fraser Island, albeit made longer by mini bus engine failure in the early hours on the upward journey, and a blown tire in the truck on the Island. But that's travel. So it's the biggest sand island in the world, and the only one with a rainforest. Though when Captain Cook 'discovered' it he didn't realise it was an island. It was fun speeding along the sand, and the all terrain vehicle was challenged by the huge ruts in the hard compacted sand which formed the road. Ate my first barramundi which was very tasty, but best of all was the swim in the cool and clear Lake Mackenzie.
