Can you fit in my tunnel
Much the same as the previous day we were crammed into another tour bus on the way to the Cu Chi tunnels. These are the minute tunnels the Vietnamese built to fend off the American troops. We were told there were a lack of weapons on the Vn side so they had to complete a lot of counter attacks at night and hide in the day. There are 3 levels of tunnels, 2,4 and 6 meters deep. Most of the current generation of Vietnamese are too big to fit down them so there's little chance of western people either!
I felt like we were rushed around quite quickly but we still had time to see various booby traps and also a chance to go down a tunnel made wider for tourists. Even then was quite tight - you wouldn't want to be spending too much time down there, certainly not hours.
That evening we did make it to the cinema. We ate at a place close by with not many western people inside and not too much English spoke. Got to try Frogs legs for the 2nd time, tastes of fishy chicken but I did forget that they are a bit of a effort to to eat.
