Turtle Hunter (find me a turtle to wave at)
Around 10am we threw on some bug spray and ascended up some forestry 20 minutes or so from our hotel to a look out point with views over the bay. I'm told there are monkeys here but mostly monkeys like to avoid me, perhaps it would be like staring at a mirror and would cause confusion to both parties. Needless to say, no monkeys and a few mosquito bites later we were up a few hundred meters overlooking turtle bay. The water looked so blue. In the water itself in places it's clear enough to see right to the bottom. The decent was quick, maybe 10 minutes.
We headed out to the cage where the baby turtles were being held. Around 160 turtles are currently here, being fed each day and waiting until they are a bit bigger to be released. Alongside it is a turtle that was rescued and is being rehabilitated (it's ready now but they are waiting for someone from WWF to give them the ok). The little turtles were poking their heads between the green mesh of the cage, full of energy trying to swim themselves free. The older turtle though would swim to the opposite end of the cage when we came near.
After lunch we snorkelled the other side of the bay. We came across plenty of fish, I did see something that was about a meter long that looked like it had a long beak rather than a mouth. Hoping to remember to look it up on the net when I have a better connection (maybe a sea snake). This journey got us to the third beach complete with a swing, and a good place to rest before going back towards our room.
The sun goes down here between two islands, very nice! Dinner was also pleasing again, had a fish curry that had a bit of chilli to make me happy and what I think were chunks of tuna washed down with Iced Calamansi.
After a nap we woke up around midnight to take another walk along the beach to see if we could spot any turtles, we didn't see any, but came across some of the hermit crabs again and a bigger crab that was about 15cm.
