I had a pretty easy journey down from the Highlands and made my way to a Hostel that was recommended to me by a Dutch chap I'd met and I booked in to the dorm, which was a bit of a sweat box but cheap and cheerful! It was bang in the middle of Chinatown, so I made my way out and had a look around. There was a massive market selling the usual fake tat, DVD's, dodgy watches and fake levis. It was fairly late, so I made my way to the Reggae Bar and strolled right in. It's expensive for beers in KL and half a Carlsberg was about 2 quid! I met some posh girls from Devon and chatted to them for a while, then invited them to the water park the next day!!
I got up earlyish the next morning and went off to meet the girls and we went off to the Sunway Lagoon, which is a water park and theme park in 1. It was good fun and good to get in the water after the heat of the city. Lots of crazy rides and water shutes. Headed back to the Hostel and again spent the night in the Reggae Bar, which does not actually play any reggae, but just has lots of posters of Bob Marley all over the place!
The next day I hopped on the monorail and headed for the twin towers, which is the largest twin building in the world, but did not go to the top as that's only allowed at certain times and days, so just looked up - quite impressive! Then I jumped back on the monorail again and went to the KL Tower which is the fourth highest building in the world! Again, I did not go up this time because they charge! I made my way back to Chinatown and bought a few things that I needed - still no shoes or trainers though! Then I went to this road cafe for a Tiger Beer as its cheaper there and got speaking to some locals who invited me to their table, so spent a few hours learning Malay and teaching them slang! I went back to the dorm and an English guy who I'd watched the football with in the Highlands had just arrived, so we went up to the roof-top terrace bar for a last beer.
