Swimming at the country club

We were up and about by 10 (surprising after the late night) and by 11 we were ready to head off with Jamie and his 2 children, Benjamin and Camilla, to the club which is kind of like a country club where you have to be a member to go in but can bring guests. The drive there was slightly eventful as we stopped off at a garage for about 15mins while Jamie did some business, then next thing you know he's asking if we can drive and would we mind driving the car he'd just bought to where his father was waiting for it!! A bit odd from someone we'd known less than 24hrs but he was taking us out for the day so we agreed and I drove a fairly new Subaru Automatic through the streets of Santiago, thankfully without incident as of course I wasnt insured or anything!! After dropping the car off we headed for the club and after some smooth talking we were able to get in for free which was a relief as it was $20 each otherwise we later found out! We started by going for some lunch which thankfully was quite cheap and very tasty although I wasnt very hungry and ended up giving half of mine to Andy to finish off. Then we went and found ourselves some sun loungers on some grass next to one of the pools (there are 4!!) and settled down to sun bathe and relax for a bit whilst the kids went and played in the children's pool. After a couple of hours we thought it time to go for a swim ourselves and ventured into the large pool where we swam a few lengths before returning to the sun loungers. By about 4 the kids were getting bored so we made a move and with a brief stop at a supermarket so Jamie could do some shopping went back to the apartment. I wasn't feeling very well, maybe I'd somehow eaten some mushrooms or the beer we'd had the night before was disagreeing with me or something so I went to lie down for a while and woke up several times with a bad stomach until eventually by about 11.30 I started to feel a little better. Jamie made me some sweet mint tea that helped soothe my stomach a bit more then shortly after that I went to sleep again whilst Andy finished uploading the photos on the blog and joined me in bed at about 2.
