Getting up at 7.30 for breakfast was hard but we had to get a bus and then a short boat ride over to Whale Island. The scenery on the way was amazing, lond sandy duned beaches with breakers one side, on the other side lagoons, used for fishing by the locals. We left Hoi An at 10 and drove to Danang station, where the train to Nha Trang left at midday. Luckily the air con started when we left the station because it was stifling. We left Hue at 8 ish and after a spectacular 4 hour drive via the Ocean Cloud Pass, Danang and China beach we arrived in Hoi An to brilliant sunshine. Christmas eve and I woke to find a christmas tree in my advent calendar. After 2 instant noodles (for breakfast) we arrived in Hue at 11.
