hola!

Well, last night we froze our arses off on the bumpiest bus trip ever!!!! Honestly, i think it was as close as we've been to experiencing an earthquake!!!! We've bounced and jerked all the way down to Uyuni, a mere 13hrs from La Paz!!!

We started in La Paz at 3.30pm and arrived at 4.30am the next day, in the FREEEZING cold, pitch blackness of Uyuni.? Thankfully, we managed to find a nice hostel to thaw out in - Andy's feet were frozen, so you can imagine how cold Sophie was!!!!? We nearly cried when we saw our designated bus - we had to put our bags on the roof and we were crammed into half falling apart seats, and our window, if you can call it that, was actually a piece of cardboard sellotaped over a gaping hole!!! We were a little apprehensive to say the least (!) but we said a prayer (we actually did!!!) and resolved ourselves to the fact that we had no control over the situation and may well die (we could see Auntie Rose shaking her head in disbelief!). But hey, WE SURVIVED!!! So we can look back on this little episode with laughter!

Uyuni itself is tiny and there aint much to do. We are gonna try and book a tour of the salt flats for tomorrow, hopefully with a connection to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile - should be a 3 day tour, so will probably be in Chile next time we speak!!!
