So it was time to pack up camp and head to our next destination Kioloa, it's so small they don't even have their own post cards printed!
We headed out on the great open road and it was a long trip. We entertained ourselves by playing the caravan game. It's like an un written rule that when you tow a van, you give the 2 finger salute to every fellow vanner that drives the other way. You simply raise 2 fingers off the steering wheel then they reply and if they don't reply we abuse the s*** out of them and head on our merry way. I get excied every time I see a van coming. I get my hands ready for the wave, good fun, nearly better than talking to the person in the passenger seat ha ha ha.
We finally got to Kioloa. It's a very small town with a general store and ice machine. That's it, except for about 5000 kangaroos and they are big mo fo's!
The caravan park was massive. It nearly takes up the whole of Kioloa. We chose our camp site which was about a 2 second walk to the beach and wow, it's one of the nicest beaches I have ever seen. The water is crystal clear and very inviting, only if it was a few degrees hotter we would of been in like flinn! You look to your right and there is the boat ramp about 500m down the beach and to your left a small rocky section which would be perfect for a quiet fish.
The first day just gave us enough time to get set up, have a small stroll and a few drinks (well thats a given!!) and then dinner. The next day was exploring day. We put our walking shoes on and headed to the point which is past the boat ramp. There were so many rocks and rock pools for us and Charli to explore but I think Charli took it to another level, making sure she touched every rock and jumped in every rock pool like a little kid. We came across a small beach with pebbles as sand. Funnily enough it is called Pebble Beach. We kept walking and following Charli, or trying to catch her because we were done walking, and got to the next point. It was a beautiful view. One of Lisa's places to go was Pretty Beach, (that's the next beach) but we found out about a hour later that you can't actually walk there, so later that day we drove up there to see a big sign saying no dogs allowed. We missed out on that witch was quite dissapointing. Apparently it's nice?
Before we left on our trip we bought some pretty top notch fishing gear and today was the day to catch some dinner. I rigged up both of the rods during the day and got the hot fishing spot and set off late afternoon. I baited up Lisa and my rods. Lisa threw out a super cast and waited for the dinner to jump on her hook. I turned around to put the knife away and before I cast I noticed my rod getting dragged down the beach by Charli. Apparently she likes pilchards, who would have thought ??? Lisa and I both looked at each other and ran after her. By the time we got there the hook is firmly embedded in her tongue. I grabbed the pliers and tried to remove it like removing a hook from a fish (considering she did just eat a fish hook) but by the time I got there, the hook was gone. She had swollowed it. Long story short she had to have emergency surgery. The hook was in her stomach so they cut it out and 6 stitches and half a shaved little girl later she is doing great. It's like nothing ever happened to her!!!!!
I got back and we said F$&@ it, let's go fishing. Before I could even get my line in, Lisa hooked one. I was wrapped cos I felt like fish for dinner. It put up a masive fight but Lisa showed it who was boss and reeled up the creature. I was getting excited for her as she pulled it in. It was a flat head! I think it must of weighed atleast 4 grams! haha We flicked it off the line, finished our turkeys and headed back to camp.
It sounds bad but while Charli was recovering at the hospital we took full advantage of the free time. We got to Pretty Beach and yep it was really fantastic. Not only did we see a pod of dolphins, but we spotted 3 whales having a play and we couldnt keep our eyes off them. The beaches really are perfect and it was like our own private beach. We got the call from the vet to say we could pick her up at 3 from Ulladulla. We went in early to check out what Ulladulla had to offer and ended up playing in the Ulladulla fun house all arvo. They still have Zone 3 there ha ha ha AWESOME. We pretended to play like little kids, well I did... it doesn't take much for me to become a kid!!
At 3 in the arvo we turned back into adults and picked up our little baby, got her back to camp and all she wanted to do was run around and get into the water. It's lucky that we were leaving the next day and had about a 6 hour drive ahead of us.
Other than our little miss hap with Charli, Kioloa is a beautiful place with great people.
Toowoon Bay here we come!

Michelle omg poor charli!!! that's seriously unlucky-who'd have thought she'd go for fish bait!?? Well sounds like fun anyway and I'm really jealous of the whale watching! Sounds fabulous! xx
Lucy Jay-By asking full-sentence quotsiens and answers ( What is that? , Who/whose is that? , etc.), you've essentially done an end-run around Tarzan and begun immediately developing fluency at the intermediate level. So in a sense, if you can play What is that? fluently, you've already gone beyond a Tarzan proficiency level. It doesn't take much to beat Tarzan. This skipping Tarzan's level (lists of single nouns) is an intentional cheat Evan built into the game. Why practice speaking anything but whole sentences? By invoking technique Limit , we cut down to a bare minimum the number of nouns and scope of the conversation, and immediately throw them into ever-more complex grammatical situations. We don't waste any time grunting at the Tarzan level.
