The day began with us dropping by a few memorials including the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial and The Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial. They both contained a lot more infomation then you would expect from a simple memorial, they were also a a lot more unique than the ones everybody remembers as the famous ones. Then we stopped by the Jefferson Memorial which was decent, but definitely not as interesting as the previous two. What was cool was that you could see the Lincoln and Washington Memorial from the steps, but we wouldn't go there until later. Before that we got to go to The Smithsonian Museum of Air and Space. They amount of content in there was astonishing, way morw than what one could do in an hour. Next up was the capital. We ate lunch in the cafeteria there are took a tour of the capitol. They had a statue for each state. The Oklahoma State Statue was Sequoyah. Sequoyah was a Native American who created his own Alphabet. We looked through some other areas and ended our tour with some pictures out front. We headed over to The Supreme Court and Library of Congress for some pictures out front. Next we went to the White House. It is a lot different then what you would think. I imagined the building on a large hill overlooking the town, with a long road leading up to it, completely secluded from the rest of the town. I was wrong. We walked down a small road. Right in front of it was a small park area. On the roof of the White House was some snipers watching over the crowd. We waved at him and he waved back! From there we went to go eat supper. It was pizza, but really good Pizza. And then we went to the Vietnam War Memorial where we found the name of somebody from Oklahoma on the wall. Next was the Lincoln Memorial which was a lot more impressive in person than through pictures. Out front was the Washington Monument which I got a great picture of. We also got to see the Korean War Memorial which was really creepy at night. After a late night and a tour of some of D.C.'s finest locations I felt content falling asleep that night.
