Its been a while since I updated my blog, I apologise for this but now the week has come to an end and i have time to share and reflect on my experience!
The monsoon has trully started here in Nepal!! When the rain (which is constant) comes down on my lil tin it sounds sooooo loud! Its kind of depressing to be in so much rain but it is certainly a novel experience. The crazy thing is that the monsoon seems to entice all the little critters to come out of their hiding places and into my home. My daily kill rate for large spiders has quadroupled! The number of snakebites presenting to the emergency room has also massively increased! I have found myself being very weary of where I place my feet nowadays! Especially after I saw that snake just outside my front door.
I have come to Pokhara for the weekend. A little break to probably the most well known tourist hot spot in Nepal. The great thing is being monsoon most people aren't here! It is just beautiful. The Anapurna range of mountains provides the back drop to the beautiful Phewa lake. I have splashedout and I am spending nearly ten dollars a night on a lovely lakeside lodge for three nights! I have air conditioning, television and a bed with a real matress! Its heavenly!
The journey here was carnage! After an hour driving in the rain at 25mph we arrived in a small village called Ramdi. In The centre of the village a huge landslide, which is very very common in these parts, covered the entire road. We sat and waited, drinking chiya...we waited... and waited. After 3 hours we had some daal bhaat and waited some more. Nothing seemed to be happening. After around four to five hours I made the decision to go back to Tansen. Our journey seemed over. We set off back towards Tansen until after 30 seconds heading back home we could see that the bridge coming in to Ramdi had been shut as a part of it had collapsed. GREAT. STuck in Ramdi!
It wasn't until later that evening the road was eventually cleared by a JCB that throughout its operation looked forever destined to fall over the abyss!
I was walking down the main lakeside strip in Pokhara today. I have bought two North Face tops and a T-shirt. I saw some friends from Uni chilling in a cool lil cafe and so we are meeting tonight for some food and drinks! The world is a small place!
Tomorrow I am going paragliding. I will be sure to upload some video action!
This is a beautiful country with beautiful people. All my love x

Edwin There is I believe an old Nepalese saying which says "do not go paragliding when you have diarrhoea". dadxx
