We had a tour through the Tower of London this morning by a Beefeater, saw the Crown Jewels and heard all the gruesome stories. Then had a pub lunch in Portobello Road at Notting Hill where the movie was filmed and walked back through Hyde Park to the tube at South Kensington, then back to Tower Hill on the Circle line.

andrewmillar The dungeon is now the gift shop! Still an instrument of torture according to the yeoman warder who was so funny. Apparently you have to have had 20 years service in the armed forces with an exemplary record to be a beefeater. He was very comical. I passed another one on the way out who had the same patter but without the comic theatrical slant.
