Hello,
After tearing ourselves away from island paradise a journey roughly east to west across the whole of Brazil lay ahead of us. We left Ilha Grande on a ferry at 10 am yesterday morning, we followed this by a taxi to the bus station where, luckily a bus was waiting to take us to Sao Paulo, 7.5 hours later we arrived in the bustling metropolis of Sao Paulo (apparantly the 3rd biggest conurbation on the planet). The Rodoviaria (bus station) was gigantic, we pulled into bay number 89!! More like an international airport. We raced round trying to find a bus to Foz, luckily (again!!) there was a bus at 8 pm, having arrived there at 7.30 this lead to a very quick turnaround - no time for dinner.
The buses do have plently of leg room, and a loo, but after another 16 hour journey (with only 2 20 min stops) the reconditioned air begins to have an effect as well as not being able to wash!!
We finally arrived at 11.30 am today, 25 and a half hours of travel and a good few thousand km later we are here! i suppose this type of trip will become relatively commonplace during the next year!
Only 2 days left in Brazil now - we do still have one of the 7 modern wonders of the world, the Itaipu Dam and the amazing Iguaçu Falls before we nip over the border into Argentina to see them from the other side. Don't worry, we promise not to mention the Malvinas!!!
Hope all is well at home, and its stopped raining!!!
Love A&S xxx
