We have made it into Bolivia – the border crossing provided no problems, althou we did nearly miss the bus at Salta, as we were told to look at the wrong platform and town name.  We thought a bus going to La Quiaca would have that name on the front of it NOT Jujuy! We were immediately struck by how poor it is here compared to both Brazil and Argentina. The town we are staying in is called Tupiza, a really nice small town, we are only using it as a quick stopover before we head off towards the salt flats of Uyuni. Our 3-night 4-day tour departs tomorrow morning at 8.30am, we have an ‘international’ cook and a driver, and another couple – Imogen and Lee from Norwich, who we met at Salta bus station heading in the same direction as us! We are really excited as there is going to be so much to see, however, slightly apprehensive about the altitude (we go over 5000m), we will let you know what happens on our return to relative civilization!!!  Lots of love A & S xxxxx
