Hello Everyone!! Its been about a week since my last entry, and my life,outlook, and situation have changed three-fold!! I'm beginning to figure this city out, little by little. For Korea's smallest city, Osan is pretty big! I'm meeting more foreigners (AKA English speakers) and they're really fun! We all teach at different institutions throughout the city, so it's interesting to share stories and swap ideas. In my little group of foreign friewnds are only two Americans, a bunch of Brits, a Scottish guy, and a New Zealander. Funny story: Last night I went out to meet some friends after work and it was just me and a bunch of guys!! New experience for me, but it was fun! My teaching experience proves to be much more challenging than I could have ever imagined. I'm not just an ESL "tutor," like I thought I would be. Oh no, I am a full fledged teacher of a bunch of monkeys ranging from 2nd grade--high school! All inadequacies I thought I had when I chose NOT to become a teacher are right at the fore-front! Only they don't understand a word I say. My classes are completely disorganized and I don't know what I'm doing from day-to-day, but it forces me to get creative. I hope things will become more clear as I go. (I hope I don't sound too bleak... its really not THAT bad, it just keeps me on my toes) PLEASE PRAY: **that I would learn how to reach this variety of ages and ability levels effectively **for continued safety and good health... I'm knocking on wood that this seems like such a safe city and I haven't encountered any real problems... yet **that I would be effective as a friend relating to all these foreigners (other ESL teachers) from differing backgrounds **(Such a silly request) that my &*%! internet situation would get worked out! What a deal that has been! The main message I want to send is that I am doing well and I'm starting to enjoy life as an expat. Whats new with you?? Let me know!! Love you all!! Anna PS.
