Been a weird one today! Arrived in the early hours and can't quite believe its still Saturday... Felt pretty rough this morning and the thought of trying the local cuisine when i felt how i did was making my stomach churn, so i have to shamefully admit that my first meal in singapore was in fact spaghetti bolognese. And very nice is was too.... oops! Turns out I'm not so great with jetlag so once checked in to the hotel I managed to crash out for the entire afternoon, but once I'd finally made it up and I was feeling slightly more refreshed, I headed down to marina bay to check out some of the high rises and 'the building with the boat on top' whatever that's called. Helloo humidity! I am very envious of all the women around me who's hair stays perfectly straight while little old me gradually made my transformation into 13 year Hermione Granger. Hair aside, the marina is beautifully lit at night. I also swung by the Raffles hotel (unfortunately lacking a Singapore Sling'), stunning hotel though from the outside at least and worth a visit :) quickly realising what was necessary to pack and what wasn't... So far broken shorts and very painful flipflops haven't given me much faith in my packing skills!! Planning to do the Zoo and night safari tomorrow so will be a long day. Still struggling with lack of sleep so bed time I think! Hopefully I'll quickly get used to the heat otherwise tomorrow could be interesting.... Night night! Amy x
